WHAT'S UP WITH HILO HIGH SCHOOL KEY CLUB?
YEAR IN REVIEW 2020-2021
New Member Induction
Despite being virtual for the orientation process, we wanted to give a warm formal welcome to our new Key Club members through a zoom induction! It was definitely a new experience from our usual luncheon, but through the planning and help from the other officers and advisors we were able to pull it off. Our Kiwanis family, old members, parents, and special guests were able to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion as the next generation embarks on their Key Club journey with the pinning of the Key Club pin and enjoyment of the yummy snacks from their goody bags!
Thanksgiving Food Drive
In the spirit of food, thankfulness and all things Thanksgiving Hilo High School Key Club partnered with Hilo High Student Association to hold a thanksgiving themed food drive. Members advertised, donated, collected and even baked pumpkin crunch pies that were passed out to all who came! Pumpkin crunch pies and over 200 non perishable items were collected and donated to the Salvation Army in order to help spread some holiday cheer in our community during these difficult times.
UNITY DAY
In October, our club made signs to show our support against bullying during National Unity Day. Members of our club had fun creating their own unique signs and sayings to help spread awareness against bullying. We stood together because as a club, we are stronger United.
